About Us

Crafting bespoke furniture with passion and precision.

The Story Behind The Board Carpenter

I first trained as a luthier in London during the 1990s, where I discovered my love for working with wood and the satisfaction that comes from crafting something by hand. From there, I worked alongside my father, who held the building contract for the National Trust in Slindon, West Sussex. Those early years taught me the value of care, patience, and attention to detail, principles that still guide everything I do today.

How it all began:
What I do now:

After spending several years as a joiner, making bespoke furniture for clients such as Harrods, I decided to focus on creating high-quality kitchens and joinery across Sussex. That passion led me to start The Board Carpenter, where I now design, build, and install high-spec kitchens, wardrobes, storage, and bespoke furniture across the South Coast. Every project is approached with the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship, combining traditional skills with modern design to create beautiful, lasting results for every home.
